Enter through the gate where two worlds meet
Madrasa is an Arabic word that lives inside the Spanish dictionary. Like the 4,000 Spanish words born from Arabic, this academy is proof that languages travel, mix and open doors. Learn Spanish with a guide who crossed that bridge herself.
A school built like the word itself: a crossing point
A small academy with a personal method, direct access to your professor, and a path designed around official DELE standards.
Examiner-level rigor
Your professor is an accredited DELE examiner with Instituto Cervantes. You learn Spanish the way it’s officially evaluated.
The bridge method
Designed by a teacher who learned Spanish as a foreign language herself and works across Arabic, English and Spanish. She knows exactly where you’ll struggle.
Live progress, always visible
Every milestone your teacher confirms appears instantly on your dashboard. Climb from Acceso to Maestría, level by level, until your certificate unlocks.
Six official levels, named the way Spain names them
Madrasa follows the Common European Framework (MCER) and the Instituto Cervantes curriculum. Wherever you start, the road is clear.

Meet Sara Hanea
From Cairo University to a PhD at the Universidad de Salamanca, Sara has taught at IE University, collaborated with Instituto Cervantes and is an accredited DELE examiner. She teaches the way she learned: with patience, structure and a love for the stories inside words.
What students say
“Sara has a rare skill: she corrects you without making you feel corrected. Classes are structured but never rigid, and she always ties grammar to something real, a news story, a song, the history of a word. My speaking confidence changed completely in one semester.”
“كنت أخاف من جزء التعبير الشفهي في امتحان DELE. سارة تعرف معايير التصحيح من الداخل لأنها ممتحِنة معتمدة، فكانت تدرّبنا على ما يبحث عنه الممتحن بالضبط. نجحت في B2 من المحاولة الأولى.”
“Excellent teacher and genuinely engaging lessons. The homework load is heavier than I expected, around 2–3 hours a week, which was hard alongside a full-time job. That said, it’s exactly why I improved so quickly.”
FAQs
What Spanish level do I need for Spanish nationality?
For nationality by residence, most applicants must pass the DELE A2 exam (or a higher level) and the CCSE test, both organised by Instituto Cervantes. Nationals of Spanish-speaking countries and minors are exempt from the DELE requirement. Always confirm current rules on official government websites.
Can I prepare for the DELE exam online with Madrasa?
Yes. All courses are online and led by Sara Hanea, an examiner accredited by Instituto Cervantes. Preparation covers all four exam skills and includes mock exams marked with the official criteria.
How long does it take to reach DELE A2 from zero?
It depends on your hours per week and practice outside class. Many beginners with regular classes reach A2 in roughly four to six months. We give you a personal estimate after a level assessment.
Do you teach Spanish to Arabic speakers?
Yes, it is one of our specialities. Sara teaches in Spanish, Arabic and English and explains Spanish sounds and grammar by comparing them directly with Arabic.
What are the official names of the Spanish levels?
A1 Acceso, A2 Plataforma, B1 Umbral, B2 Avanzado, C1 Dominio operativo eficaz and C2 Maestría, following the Common European Framework (MCER) and the Instituto Cervantes curriculum.
Do you offer training for future Spanish teachers?
Yes. The ELE Teacher Training program covers methodology, lesson planning, classroom management, DELE-style assessment and observed teaching practice with detailed feedback.
Who teaches at Madrasa?
Sara Hanea: PhD researcher in sociolinguistics and immigration studies at Universidad de Salamanca, former Adjunct Professor of Spanish at IE University, former collaborating professor at Instituto Cervantes Cairo and accredited DELE examiner, with 8+ years of teaching experience.
How much do the courses cost?
Prices are shown on the Courses page in your currency and follow the cost of living in your country. They depend on the format (private, pair or small group of 3–5 students) and the program, with complete course packages (for example, 20 classes per General Spanish level). Why “Madrasa”?
A word in two dictionaries
Madrasa is Arabic for “school” and appears in the dictionary of the Real Academia Española. One word, two civilisations.
A shared history
Eight centuries of Al-Andalus filled Spanish with Arabic: almohada, azúcar, ojalá, aceituna. Learning Spanish means discovering a language that carries another world inside it.
A promise
Madrasa is a gateway, not just a classroom. Language is the key to culture, work, travel and connection, in both directions.

Honest reviews, strengths and weaknesses
We publish what students loved and what they’d improve. That honesty is how the academy gets better.

“As an Arabic speaker, Sara’s comparisons between Arabic and Spanish sounds and structures were a game changer. The Spanish ‘r’ and ‘j’ finally clicked, and the Word Origins sessions are brilliant.”
“La formación es muy práctica: planificación de clases, gestión del aula y retroalimentación real sobre mis clases observadas. Me habría gustado tener más material grabado para repasar, pero los comentarios de Sara sobre mi práctica docente valen oro.”
“Very well-organised course with clear goals each week. Some grammar sessions moved quickly for me, but Sara always made time after class to go through my questions. Highly recommended.”
